Research & Expertise

My research centers on analyzing the evolution of copyright law through empirical methods. I have examined the role of Member State submissions in shaping the European Court of Justice’s jurisprudence, identified trends in the Court’s decision-making process, and assessed the balance between rightsholders’ and users’ interests in EU copyright law. My findings have been published in leading academic journals such as the Modern Law Review and the European Law Review.
Beyond traditional academic research, I have collaborated on policy-driven projects, including a review for the UK Strategic Advisory Board for Intellectual Property Policy (SABIP) on the relationship between copyright and contract law and an analysis for the UK Government on open standards in IT procurement.

These projects highlight my ability to apply empirical methodologies to complex legal issues, delivering insights that inform both national and European policymaking.

Current Work & Interests

I am currently exploring the intersection of copyright law and digital culture, focusing on the legal implications of pre-teen and child influencers on social media—an emerging area with profound regulatory significance. This work continues my commitment to data-driven legal research that anticipates and responds to contemporary challenges. See my blogpost here.
